Emmanuel Adeyemi Adebayo is a Nigerian visual artist and culture curator whose work explores the relationship between memory, play, emotional wellbeing, ecology, and shared human experience. Through painting, mixed media, and immersive installation, he transforms familiar materials and everyday references into visual narratives that reflect on childhood, connection, healing, and contemporary life.
Adeyemi's practice often centers on the idea of play as more than nostalgia. For him, play becomes a creative and emotional framework — a way to reconnect with imagination, empathy, and parts of ourselves that adulthood often asks us to leave behind. His work uses bold forms, textured surfaces, simplified figures, and vibrant compositions to create scenes that feel playful, reflective, and deeply human.
As co-founder of Nonewfriends (NNF), Adeyemi also curates sonic and spatial experiences that encourage dialogue around community, environmental care, and emotional awareness. Across his artistic and curatorial work, he is committed to creating spaces where people can gather, reflect, and participate in new ways of seeing and valuing the world around them.
My Evolution traces Emmanuel Adeyemi's decade-long journey as an artist, from intuitive drawing and early commissions to a multidisciplinary practice shaped by imagination, environmental consciousness, and sound. His work has evolved through major bodies of work including AFTERMATH, which addresses plastic mismanagement and environmental neglect; MADE OF LIGHT, which explores human behavior in relation to the environment; and PLAYTIME, an interactive body of work using sound and visual art to create calm in an overstimulated world.
