This work explores the quiet moment when transformation begins. The figure sits in a posture of vulnerability, while radiant beams of light emerge from the eyes, symbolizing an awakening of vision, hope, and self-discovery. It is a reminder that true change begins internally, long before it becomes visible to the world.
The contrasting blue and red tones reflect the tension between introspection and the demands of the outside world. Although the figure appears still, the luminous gaze suggests a consciousness coming alive, a new way of seeing, thinking, and imagining what is possible. This awakening is not simply about opening one's eyes, but about recognizing the potential that has always existed within.
As part of the exhibition The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born, Awakening reflects on the idea that the "beautiful ones" are those who dare to envision a better version of themselves and the world around them. Before transformation can be witnessed, it must first be imagined. Every meaningful change begins with an awakening.
